Irma Kapsenberg (owner) has been training pet dogs for over 25 years. She obtained her dog training certificate in The Netherlands where she was trained by the country’s leading dog behaviorist.

Her specialties are puppy socialization, obedience training for all ages, teaching good house manners, solving problem behavior, temperament testing and matching owners with the right dog or puppy. This, combined with proven, gentle training techniques, will help you and your dog live happily together.

Good Dog! offers private in-your-home training sessions, to be scheduled at your convenience. This is a very effective way to address the dog's problem behavior and to set puppies up for success.

Training philosophy

I want to set the dog and you up for succes by gently teaching behavior in a way that you both can handle. This, in combination with fair and consistent leadership in a way that the dog can understand, is the foundation for a balanced training program.

What about treats?

I do use treats, to teach new behavior or to reinforce all ready learned behavior in more challenging situations. Once the dog succeeds, treats are weaned off as soon as possible to prevent reliance on having food with you at all times.
